Important information due to COVID-19
The Consular Section of the Embassy of Ecuador in Canada has implemented the following protocol in order to improve its services due to the current health emergency.
Ecuador’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility has issued a “Protocol for the Provision of Institutional Services in Consular Offices”. This document states that “each consular office will offer its services considering the specificities of each country, consular district and its institutional capacity.”
Procedure to access Consular Services:
- The Consular Section of the Embassy of Ecuador in Canada will serve clients residing in the areas of Ottawa-Gatineau, Montreal and the Provinces of Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Labrador and Nova Scotia. Those residing in other locations in Canada should contact the Toronto and Vancouver Consulates, depending on their jurisdictions.
- The hours of attention to the public are Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
- No attention will be provided without an appointment.
- You have to arrive 10 minutes before the appointment, register your entry, wear a mask, and use hand sanitizer both when entering and leaving the Embassy.
- At the end of your appointment you have to pay the consular services through a check in US dollars.
- Only the beneficiary of the consular services will be admitted at the Embassy. If you require the assistance of a relative or companion, please indicate this via email so you can obtain an authorization to do so.
- People with visible symptoms of COVID-19 will not be allowed at the Embassy. Specific measures have been coordinated with the administration of the building for the fulfillment of this purpose.
- Food and drinks are not allowed in the Embassy.
